The Power of Words

Words are powerful! Too often we don’t pay enough attention to the

words we speak. Words can make or break a relationship, empower

someone or hurt them. Ask yourself: are your words empowering,

encouraging, uplifting, soothing, loving and respectful? Or, are they

critical, discouraging, and maybe even cruel? Effective communicators

are good listeners and thoughtful about the words they choose to speak.

As soon as a child begins to speak in full sentences, it’s time to begin to

teach them good words vs. bad words. Remember, children are great

observers and hear much more than parents know that they hear. Be

careful how you speak in front of children because they are learning

from you.
