The Holiday Season and Covid
Question:
How can you make Christmas extra special this year even during a pandemic?
Answer:
Dear Parents,
As we enter into this Holiday Season, I’m not surprised that my counseling sessions have become more urgent as people lose employment, and fear losing their homes. Feeding their families, sending children to school, and trying to stay safe during Covid-19 are only a few examples of the serious concerns.
Over 35-plus years of practice, if I’ve learned nothing else, I’ve learned how faith and hope bring people through just about anything. I have witnessed such resilience that I still find myself in awe of the mental and emotional strength humans possess.
So, during this time, I hope you will look within and find your faith, hope and strength so you can come out of this difficult time on the other side. As someone said, there is another tomorrow no matter how dark today may look.
Use the social services provided, and never let pride get in the way of asking for help. If you are one of the more fortunate, offer assistance, lend a helping hand and please feed someone or even an entire family.
If we all come together, we can work miracles by doing the smallest thing. There is someone near to you that needs your help.
Wishing you well throughout this holiday season and always,
Your friend and the ItsIts counselor,
Shrink, also known as, Kay Francis MA
